Submission and review of the neighbourhood forum and area

The City Corporation must take decisions at key stages in the neighbourhood planning process, ie. approval of the neighbourhood plan area or forum. The local planning authority must fulfil its duties and take decisions as soon as possible, and within statutory time periods where these apply.
The Corporation will have to determine the forum and area application within 13 weeks of receipt.
Consultation

The City Corporation will undertake a period of formal public consultation which must last for a minimum of 6 weeks.
Review Consultation Responses
The City Corporation will review consultation responses to understand how the community has responded to the proposed forum and area.
Committee Decision
13 weeks later

Officers will present at Planning & Transport Committee the results of the public consultation. Members will consider the application to designate the neighbourhood forum and area.
If a designation of the neighbourhood forum is made, no other body may be designated for the neighbourhood area until the designation expires or is withdrawn.
